In the Eastern suburbs of Thessaloniki, the renovation of the Institute for Learning Therapy and Counselling for Children and Adolescents, ‘Small Hero’, was completed. The layout of the area was based on the separation of the child psychologist's office, the area devoted to speech therapy and occupational therapy and a waiting room. The spaces were created to be compact with strict geometric design to serve the needs of the Institute. The lighting was designed with the aim of every corner of the area being sufficiently illuminated by natural and artificial light sources. In the occupational therapy room, special emphasis was placed on the wall and hanging structures so that the space can function in the appropriate way for the rehabilitation of children and adolescents. The design was inspired by Nordic Style lines, with the main characteristics being simplicity, minimalism and functionality while maintaining a clean and simple style. When visiting the place, the goal was to give the feeling of a friendly and warm environment, especially for the children. We achieved this by decorating the walls with geometric shapes in warm shades of orange and petrol yellow. The selection of the equipment as well as the decorative elements were made based on the requirements of the customer's needs where, here again, the focus of the philosophy was simplicity and functionality.
